PS3 - PlayStation Store Not Available To Some
Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation Store, touted by them to be ¨an integrated and streamlined online storefront¨ which ¨allows all PS3 users to browse and download available entertainment content¨ will not be making it to some countries right away and in some cases, not at all.
Since the launch on march 23 gamers in some countries have complained they they, as of yet, cannot access the PlayStation Store to check out what is available. These countries include Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Slovenia.
The reason for this? According to SCEE director of corporate communications Nick Sharples, the delay is due to having to customize the content to fit each of the countries. ¨There are more than 102 territories in the region, and each Store has to be made unique for each territory due to different currencies and languages,¨ he explained. ¨Stores will reach some territories in due course.¨
There are some, however, that will not be able to access the store at all due to a lack of broadband access. ¨The PS Store may not be accessible in Azerbaijan, for example,¨ he added.
No timeline has been given on when the countries affected will gain access.
