PS3 - PlayTV Hits 85,000 Sold
When Sony released PlayTV in the UK last week, it shipped in a total of 85,000 units. This is quite a large number, considering that about only 9,000 pre-orders were made for the said video recording device.
If this works out for Sony, PlayTV could be a breakthrough for media hub. Now that the Go!View service is already open for the PSP, PlayTV utilizes more of the handheld's capability through the Remote Play feature of the PlayTV to connect the PS3 and PSP.
PlayTV has been priced at GBP 69.99 in the UK and a North American release remains to be seen as of the moment. Hopefully, if the PlayTV becomes such a huge hit in the UK, then Sony will make it available in the US.
