PS3 - PSN Shutting Down For Maintenance Today
Sony has recently let us know they will be shutting down the PSN, including the PlayStation Store, from 8 AM PST until 11 PM PST of the same day. They don't expect this to affect other aspects of the PlayStation Network.
The reason for the maintenance? Getting things in place for the new PlayStation Store. This includes more content as well as the brand new interface which will be dynamic and not web-based like it is now, having it more built in to the system itself. Before you will be able to access the new store, however, a firmware upgrade will be needed- this will be released Tuesday and bring us up to v 2.30.
