PS3 - PSOne Emulator Not Quite Ready Yet
In an interview with 1up.com Phil Harisson talked about the plans to make most of the original PlayStation games available for download to play on the PS3 and the PSP. Games will be downloaded via the PlayStation Store on the PS3.
He said there will be a few titles available at launch such as the original Twisted Metal and Syphon Filter. Unfortunately, the emulator software for the PS3 is not ready just yet so for now the games will have to be transferred to a PSP for play.
Harisson hopes the patch will be ready before years´ end and then we wll have the choice of playing the downloaded games on either system. It should be noted original PlayStation discs will still work fine on the PS3 when it launches. They won´t be enhanced for the 1080p resolution, however, so don´t expect any improvement graphics-wise.
