PS3 - Resident Evil 5 In October?

In the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, it was revealed that Capcom plans on releasing Resident Evil 5 on or before the holiday season of this year.

This should be a pretty pleasing news to hear, as the same source also details that not only will Resident Evil 5 be making it in stores in time for the holidays, in fact it would see a release as early as October.

Due out on Sony's PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, the game is set ten years following the events of the original game, with players being able to control former S.T.A.R.S. Marksman, Chris Redfield. In this version, Redfield is sent to investigate an isolated village in the African desert where he unveils an unknown virus or plague infecting the locals, which has then turned them into malevolent killers.

Not only will you get to choose from a great variety of weapons like the handgun, shotgun, assault rifle, you can also utilize the over-the-shoulder perspective that allows for precise aiming, as well as the melee attacks. These are some features of the game that has been so far confirmed, while most of its plot and gameplay remain unknown.
