PS3 - Resistance 2 Collector's Edition, Beta Details
Details have come to light somewhat on what is included with the Collector's Edition of Resistance 2, the follow-up to the hit PS3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man, when it hits shelves this November.
Pictured above is most of the contents: the game itself with a cover that was voted on by members of the PS3 community, a Chimera action figure with Bullseye gun, a double-sided hard-cover Resistance 2 art book covering war-torn America from two unique perspectives as well as an exclusive HVAP Wraith multiplayer weapon skin.
Along with all this, the collector's edition also includes a bonus DVD with the following extras:
* Exclusive behind the scenes video, “America Forever Lost”, chronicling the making of Resistance 2
* Digital copy of Issue #0 of the Resistance comic book series published by Wildstorm.
* A preview into the upcoming Resistance novel, “Resistance: The Gathering Storm” by science fiction author William Dietz.
* “Shattered History” Resistance timeline movie– providing a story overview from the earliest days of the Chimera invasion to the beginning of Resistance 2.
Overall, a great deal for $79.99 US. This is a limited release so if you want to have this it would be best to pre-order.
Now then, beta details.The public beta in North America will start in early October. getting in to the beta is easy- pre-order the game at participating Gamestop locations or apply through the third issue of Qore, the digital magazine available in the North American PlayStation Stores on the PS3- annual subscription holders get premiere access as well.
Those looking to get in but don't mind a small wait can either buy the single issue of Qore or apply at http://beta.myresistance.net/apply. The "open access" portion of the beta will start about 7 days after the premiere.
For those outside of North America, don't worry- your shot at the beta is coming too. Details about this will be coming soon from the regional Sony branches and will most likely involve preordering the game or applying online.
