PS3 - Rumor Central: Interactive XMB Using PlayStation Eye, MGS4 Demo?

A couple of new rumors have been making the rounds lately. No one can say for sure how much there is to them so don't take this reporting of them as actual fact- as the title says, these are rumors.

First up, there is talk that we may, one day, be able to interact and make selections in the PS3's menu using nothing more than moving our hands. This would work similar to how some of the PlayStation Eye games available on the PlayStation Store. Picture this- move your hand right to move over to the Friends menu, then down to scroll down to the friend you want and make a tapping motion to select that friend and send a message. Sounds somewhat sci-fi, doesn't it? Still, the technology is easily there and this could maybe have an inkling of truth to it. Word is this may be added in somewhere near the end of the year.

This next rumor, despite confirmations to the contrary some time back, just refuses to go away. At the bottom of an article in PlayStation World magazine in the UK there is a note saying "Want more MGS4? Well, you'll get it very soon. The stage played here will be out on the PSN Store in the next month".

Now, keep in mind that no where in that do they actually say it is a demo that will be coming. For all we know it will be a video showing someone playing through that section of the game, somewhat like they did during the last E For All Expo. Still, fans of Solid Snake can't seem to wait to get their hands on this and have a taste of what's to come when the full game arrives (currently thought to be in mid-June 2008).

Now, it had been said before by Hideo Kojima and other people from Konami that we will not be getting a demo so, until they say otherwise, i would not get the hopes up too high. Then again, it would not be the first time a game company has done a 180 and did something they said they wouldn't.

When we hear something more on either of these we will post it up for all to see.
