PS3 - Rumor! GTA IV actually ready?
"What the...?" I hear you say? "But the release date has been changed to early next year, how can it be ready now?"
Well it is and it isn't.
I found out today that the Head Office of a major Video Game retailer has actually played a demo that was basically releasable.
From my source, I was told that the game was fully playable. You could do everything that you can do in a GTA game.
So why is it not being released in October then? Well the thought is that it is down to the music and ONLY the music.
Rockstar are famous for the brilliant use of music in their Grand Theft Auto games. You play Vice City (or the more recent Vice City Stories), get into a car, and then you're instantly taken back to the 80s with the music beaming out from the cars radio.
Unfortunately, when the, what seemed to be, fully finished game was played of GTA IV, there was no music at all.
You get into a car, and nothing, nada, zip, not a peep from any music.
This is where the rumor comes in. It's thought that the only reason Rockstar haven't released the game yet is down to the music and the music alone. A lack of music would seem a bit of a downer, but I mean, come on, it's only music.
If the game is ready now minus the music, hands up who would still buy the game and download a music update to the game when that bit is ready?
I for one would put up with the lack of music just so I could play the game. They should at least release a free demo for us all to see the, almost it would seem, finished product.
So, is this the only reason the game has been put back? Is the lack of music actually a major problem that resulted in this much anticipated game being put back? These questions I can't answer you, but I can say this:
If the only thing wrong with this game is the music, then Rockstar must have some VERY good music lined up for this game. Afterall, they never do things by half do they?
We'll keep you updated with any other rumours we hear. And definitely any confirmed information we may receive.
