PS3 - RUMOR! Sony WILL have Bundles
As a dedicated site of all Sony consoles, we aim to bring you up to date news about anything and everything relating to Sony consoles.
Well, I´m here to release some information that I was told yesterday.
As everyone on this site knows, I´ve had a PS3 pre-ordered since last June.
Anyway, I was contacted yesterday relating to my order. This is what I was told:
Apparently, Sony ARE doing console bundles at launch.
The bundles will include the following:
• The 60GB PS3
• Two Bluetooth controllers
• The Blu-Ray Remote Control
• and a Sony game, the choice of which will either be:
• Ridge Racer 7
• Resistance: Fall of Man
• Formula 1 Championship Edition
• Motor Storm
The other surprise was that the bundle will NOT include a cable to connect it to your tv. Now we obviously knew that we weren´t getting an HDMI cable but we thought we would at least get the basic Component Cable and Scart connector.
Sony´s reason for not providing a cable of any sort? Apparently, people own so many different tvs that it would be difficult to provide a cable suitable for all. So, instead of giving you a choice of cable, for free, you will have to buy one seperately at a price of at least £12.99 (GBP 12.99).
So the total cost of a PS3 at launch?
£499 for the bundle and £12.99 for a cable coming to a grand total of £511.99.
Now as a reminder, I must stress that this is what I was told. As of this moment in time, Sony have not officially confirmed whether this will happen.
However, as the UK launch is now only 6 weeks away, it is looking more and more likely that this could be what happens.
