PS3 - SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta Details
When word of the multiplayer-only game SOCOM: Confrontation came out, the first thing that came to the minds of many was "how can I get in the beta?". Well, details of that have finally came out and gamers can get there in two ways.
The first way was to purchase the premiere issue of Qore, the digital magazine found in the North American PlayStation Stores. Those that did will recall there is a link in there to join the beta when available. Those getting in this way will be starting on September 8.
The other way into the beta is to pre-order the game at participating Gamestop stores. By doing this you get a code to get yourself into the beta, which you would use in the Account Management on the PS3. One thing that is a bit different here is you are able to share this code with two other people- handy if you have a couple of friends that want to get in on the action and you want to get a head start on your squad tactics. Gamers going this way will be in on the beta on day one, September 1.
To make use of the beta, as one would expect, you will need to have a PSN username. This beta is only for North American residents and will run until September 30. Those of you in the UK and Europe will be able to get into a beta for this game, however- details on that will be coming from your regional Sony Computer Entertainment branches.
