PS3 - Sony Style Removes 80 GB From Catalog (Updated)
There has been lots of rumormongering about the possibility of Sony discontinuing the 80 GB model PS3 to make way for a new high end model (such as the 120 GB model filed with the FCC recently). Sony has not yet said anything official about this being fact but recent developments sure do look familiar to this 20 GB owner.
Sony Style, Sony's own retailer, has removed the 80 GB system from their catalog of items. This leaves only the 40 GB system 9bundled with Spider-Man 3 on Blu-Ray) as the only choice from their stores/ web sites.
UPDATE- Looks like the source of this story jumped the gun a bit. The Official Sony Style stores do still have the 80 Gb systems in stock. A search for 80 GB PlayStation 3 turns them up with no problem.
