PS3 - Sony Trying To Block European PS3 Imports
Those of you in the UK and Europe that don´t want to wait for the march 2007 launch will be having a harder time of it than originally planned. Sony says they will use ¨the full scope of the law¨ to discourage importing the system from Japan or North America. Sony recently won a case against importer Lik-Sang who was selling imported PSPs in the European region.
Sony says they are ¨trying to protect consumers from being sold hardware that does not conform to strict EU or UK consumer safety standards.¨ Might sound good as an official justification but most know it more likely to protect local sales.
