PS3 - Strikeforce Partners With EA For MMA Game

Although the UFC itself is not offering support for EA's upcoming MMA title, EA Sports was able to sign up Strikeforce as their premier league such that the game can offer few familiar names into the franchise.

Among the familiar Strikeforce personalities that you can expect to see in the game are commentary tag-team Frank Shamrock and Mauro Ranallo, Ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr, and Big John McCarthy. Other Strikeforce fighters that have been confirmed to be playable during the game include Jason Miller and Muhammed Lawal.

According to Dale Jackson, the game's Executive Producer, “We are very excited to be working with STRIKEFORCE and feature them as a premier league in our game. They have a wealth of mixed martial arts expertise, put on great shows and have a great stable of top-notch fighters. Together we look forward to growing the sport and delivering an immersive interactive gaming experience.”

Meanwhile, you can expect EA Sports MMA to come out on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on a yet unspecified 2010 release date.
