PS3 - "The Best" Budget Lineup Brings A Smile To Japanese Gamers
On March 19, expect to get your hands on the first batch of PlayStation 3 the Best budget titles as they are scheduled for release in Japan. It will include Resistance, FolksSoul, Gundam Target in Sight, and Ridge Racer 7, with prices dropping down to 2,800 yen in exchange for some unsightly yellow packaging.
And as early as now, Ubisoft has announced the second batch of titles, which amusingly enough, consists of only one title - Rainbow Six: Vegas. The second batch will join the PlayStation 3 the Best lineup on April 24 at also 2,800 yen.
Aside from the re-release of Rainbow Six: Vegas, Sony has also announced the Best Smile Campaign. Japanese gamers who will purchase one of the five titles from the period of March 19 to May 24 will be able to send a postcard to qualify for some nifty prizes, which includes a CyberShot DSC-T300 (given to 2), a DualShock 3 (given to 10), and a BD Remote Control (given to 100).
The campaign was named after the fact that the DSC-T300 is one of those cameras that are capable of detecting when photo subjects are smiling.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma was initially announced to be included in the first batch of the Best release for the PlayStation 3 on March 19, but it has been moved to an unspecified date.
Hopefully it is just a matter of time when a Greatest Hits/ Platinum series gets started in other regions.
