Now that The Beatles: Rock Band has been scheduled for a September release, Harmonix is not about ready yet to release a proper sequel for the rhythm game this year. This does not mean that the franchise would be entirely missing for the year though as another Rock Band-branded product is lined up for release this year. This is via the Rock Band Track Pack: Classic Rock brought about by MTV Games, EA, and Harmonix that is scheduled for release on the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii on the 19th of May.

There are a total of 20 retro songs feature in the Classic Rock track pack, which was previously released weekly as a DLC. This $29.99 stand-alone product includes quite a few notable classic tracks. MTV Games has confirmed that these tunes can be downloaded by either PS3 and Xbox 360 users so they can play it in the Rock Band or Rock Band 2, which is entirely free of charge.
