PS3 - This Week's Blu-Ray Movie Releases
With a new batch of Blu-ray movies set for release this week, fans can get the usual concoction of drama, music and comedy to fill their movie nights with fun and excitement!
Starting off the list for a total of eleven movies in this batch is Batman himself, in Batman The Movie: Special Edition. However, this does not feature either Micheal Keaton nor Jack Nicholson playing as Gotham's Caped Crusader. Instead, it will be Adam West, which dates back to the heyday when it was just a TV show. Nothing better than old-school Batman action!
Then, there's Leonardo DiCaprio in Amsterdam, playing as a 19th-century New Yorker. His quest to find justice for his slain father leads him to a bloody trail of gang-related violence. Another great movie that is just as filled with psychological action as this one is Vantage Point, which takes you through the story behind attempts to assassinate the American president. However, everything was captured on amateur video which led to the revelation of the truth behind the crime.
Taking over center stage is Clint Eastwood with In the Line of Fire. In this movie, Eastwood plays the role of a retired Secret Service agent Frank Horrgan, who still feels guilt about his failure to thwart the Kennedy Assassination during his time. After a psychotic assassin shows up in attempt to kill the current seated President, he is determined to hunt down the assassin as a way of accomplishing what he has failed to do years back.
As the intensity continues to build up, might as well check out Point Break: Pure Adrenaline that enables you to experience the Southern California waves. Playing as Johnny Utah in this movie is Keanu Reeves, who attempts to infiltrate a gang of surfers that are the reason behind several bank robberies. Will he succeed in tracking them down or will he end up being the gang's next target?
Now, if that's too much hardcore stuff for you, here's the lighter side of things. You are sure to hurt your stomach laughing or end up rolling on the floor with Get Smart's Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control. Although a comedy film, expect some really cool action elements as well. Then, there's Meet the Browns: Special Edition or Sex and Death 101. These two offer a perfect mix of drama and comedy for those who want things this way.
If you just want a pure laugh, check out Drillbit Taylor: Extended Survival Edition, as it explores the world of high school freshmen on the verge of adolescence and running along a few mischievous deeds. For a more different taste, what about Mad Men: Season One? This is based on the first season of this TV series that is set in New York during the 1960's, as well as the cutthroat business that it comprised.
But if you are craving for some good music on a lazy night, there's Korn: Live at Motreux and John Mayer: Where the Light Is, whatever your mood is.
Lastly, we have an a documentary with an in-depth coverage of India's sacred river, the Ganges. This documentary aims to enlighten us on the existing sub-culture within this subcontinent and how it became a holy place.
Well, that wraps up our weekly dose of Blu-Ray releases! If you did not find anything you like, do look out for more exciting releases next. Meanwhile, enjoy!
