PS3 - This Week's Blu-Ray Releases (May 19 To 24)
After what seems to be a hodgepodge of moves in last week's batch of Blu-ray releases, this time out you will be treated to full packed action movies and specials from award-winning actors, as well as various sporting events, and documentaries. If variety and quality is what you aim for, then this week's list won't disappoint you.
First off is the great lineup of Nicolas Cage movies that are included this week. There's National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets from Walt Disney. For the first film, Gates (Cage) will have to take a look at the Declaration of Independence document before he will be able to find clues to what he, and those before him, have been searching for.
Meanwhile, Book of Secrets, Gates will find himself clearing out his great-great grandfather's name, who was accused of involvement in the murder of President Abraham Lincoln using only a missing page in a diary as his only clue. Also, there is another (more recent movie) from Nicolas Cage called NEXT that you may also enjoy. Aside from that, John Travolta's 1997 film Face/Off will also be included in this Bu-ray edition.
Meanwhile, if you want films that will get you in a good mood, then the following movies will certainly make this batch a must-have for you. Jon Heder and Will Ferrell team up in the 2007 comedy Blades of Glory, which is about former rivals competing in the men's single skaters category in the WinterSport Games. On the other hand, another movie that can help cheer you up is Company: A Musical Comedy that tackles love and commitment in Manhattan, through the eyes of a 35-year old bachelor.
Moving over, here is an offering from Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios, which will have Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson team up for one of 2003's hit movies, Anger Management. In this film, Sandler is forced to undergo anger management therapy instead of being sent to jail after he had a misunderstanding with an air marshal. All these therapy sessions should be pretty hilarious to look at and might also help your own stress management, so unwind a bit with this one.
Moving over to the animated films, DreamWorks Animation presents Bee Movie, which features Jerry Seinfeld's voice. Should be pretty interesting to follow the story of a bee named Barry B. Benson.
As for the documentaries, there are a total of eight and are bundled in two's: Nature: The Desert Lions which is bundled with Life in Death Valley, Nature: In The Valley of the Wolf clumped with Christmas in Yellowstone, Nature: Shark Mountain released with Supersize Crocs, and Nature: Under Antarctic Ice bundled with Encountering Sea Monsters.
This batch is definitely brilliant not only in terms of numbers, but with the variety and quality of entertainment they promise to deliver. As for the rest of the list, they are bulleted below for your convenience.
