PS3 - Tom Clancy Games Taking To The Skies

When most gamers hear the name Tom Clancy, first thing that comes to their mind is the Rainbow Six series. This time, however, he's looking to do something a little different- air combat.

Tom Clancy's Air Combat is being developed for next-generation systems by UbiSoft's Bucharest studio. The game is set in the near future and the US has been attacked by a private military force. Players will we take to the air in ultra-advanced fighter craft to fight back. At first, players will get assistance until they get used to their aircraft and eventually be able to take off the "training wheels" as you gain confidence.

"We are confident that this new brand will become the new benchmark for flight combat games and will be, like other Tom Clancy based games, an instant online multiplayer hit," said Sebastien Delen, managing director of Ubisoft's Bucharest studio. "The player will experience all the action and excitement of modern air combat, from intense dog fighting to tactical strikes."

The game is currently set to launch sometime in 2008.
