PS3 - UK Preorders Have Begun

Littlewoods, the UK department store and online retailer, has started taking preorders for the PlayStation 3 on their web site. Several bundles are available , all featuring the 60 GB model, starting at a price of �549 (USD $1,086) for a PS3 and the game Motorstorm.

Other bundles include one going for �609 ($1,204) which included 2 games, Risistance: Fall Of Man and Call Of Duty 3. The most expensive bundle gets you the system and 4 games (Gengi: Days Of The Blade, Motorstorm, Sonic The Hedgehog and Tony Hawk´s Project 8) for a mere �699 ($1,383).

Extra controllers can be had for �39 ($77). Twelve games are listed on the site in all and priced at �55 ($108) each. Someof these titles include Rainbow Six: Vegas, SingStar and Pimp My Ride. Delivery is promised ¨within 17 weeks¨.

Other retailers are holding off for now on preorders. A Woolworths rep said
¨It is too early to take PS3 preorders. It is vitally important to have visibility of stock levels before taking customer orders to avoid disappointing any customers.¨ Meantime, a spokesperson for Argos said ¨All I can tell you is that we will be in the near future but the date has yet to be finalised.¨
