PS3 - UK Weekly Top 10 Game Sales (June 21/ 08)
Although Solid Snake and the rest of the MGS4 gang has secured top spot in last week's UK software charts, that reign is apparently short-lived. Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures managed to whip it out of the top spot and reclaim first place.
The reason for MGS4's decline is not surprising, knowing that it is exclusive to the PS3 while Lego Indiana Jones is available on multiple platforms, even the PC. Therefore, the numbers are against Snake and even MGS4's power can hold it at the top.
Meanwhile, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII debuted in the UK charts this week, securing the 10th spot. It's no surprise that the game has made it into the top ten list, but it's performance pales in comparison to what were expected of it knowing that the Limited Edition of the said game was released in Europe. Then again, just like the MGS4, the title is a platform exclusive.
Just like Crisis Core, Alone in the Dark also made its way into the charts but did not manage to reach the top with Lego Indy and MGS4 blocking its way up the charts. Grand Theft Auto IV, on the other hand, slowly declines to the fourth spot. The rest of the top ten chart action is listed below, for the week ending June 21:
1.Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
2.Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
3.Alone In The Dark
4.Grand Theft Auto IV
5.Wii Play
6.Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games
7.Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training
8.Race Driver: GRID
9.Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock
10.Crisis Core
