PS3 - Unreal Tournament 3 "Slower" On Consoles - Rein
Epic Games' Unreal Tournament 3 (for the Sony PS3, Xbox 360, PC) was noticeably running quite slower on the PS3 as compared to the PC version. Epic Games VP Mark Rein has revealed that this was intended to make the experience of playing the game on the consoles as fun as its other iteration.
In an interview, Rein said that “[y]our fingers are just not as precise as your whole arm.” And he further adds that “the movement and speed as a console gamer is just right.”
He also cited the difference in speed as the reason as to why players on the consoles cannot go head-to-head with PC UT3 players. Rein concludes by saying that, “you have got to make some compromises for each platform.”
