PS3 - US Air Force Wants 300 PS3s For Cell Processor Research

The US Air Force has put in a request for proposal for 300 40 GB PlayStation 3 consoles to use in cell processor research.

According to the proposal they want the PS3 as "The processors in the Sony PlayStation 3 are the only brand on the market that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for this program at an acceptable cost."

They are not looking for any special treatment here, they are willing to pay full retail and have the same warranty as we would ourselves.
