PS3 - Virgin Radio Launching PS3 Radio Service
BBC News reports Virgin Radio and its digital networks have launched a free service for the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, allowing users to access a custom player via the system´s web browser. They claim to be the first to do so.
Along with linking to streaming audio from the stations they will also offer videos, exclusive session recordings and concert tickets along with CDs and tracks for download. The broadcaster says this is a way to appeal to a younger audience.
¨People are treating the consoles as part of their home entertainment media centre, and now Virgin Radio will be part of that experience,¨ said James Cridland, the company´s director of digital media.
Four stations will be available- we have the main Virgin Radio station, Virgin Radio Xtreme (rock), Virgin Classic Rock and Virgin Radio Groove.
