PS3 - Weekly Japanese Hardware/ Software Sales (June 22/ 08)

After a brief stay on the top of Japanese charts, the PS3 exclusive title Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots gave way for the PSP title, Super Robot Taisen Advance Portable, to take over the number one spot. MGS4 also experienced the same fate in the European charts where it stepped down after its reign in the said region.

Meanwhile, Mario Super Sluggers (which is known as Super Mario Stadium: Family Baseball in Japan) debuted this week in the Japanese charts. Many were surprised at the position it garnered upon entering the charts, knowing that the Japanese people are big fans of the Mario games for the Wii. To check out the rest of the chart action in Japan for the week ending June 22, the top ten are listed below:

When it comes to the hardware charts, the PSP was able to reign supreme once again, having sold a few units short of the 60,000th mark in Japan. Securing the second spot is Wii, with 41,000 units sold. Check out below for the complete hardware charts action:
