For a while, we have been left wondering as to whatever happened to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's (SCEE) WipEout HD.

This exciting title is not just back, it is back with a bang! The latest update on the game has just been released and the following upgrades will surely be enough to last until the next update:

Full Sixaxis support
Return of some well-known tracks from previous games
Mag-Strips as an added feature that will temporarily lock your ship onto the track
Seven race modes:
Single Race
Tournament
Time Trial
Speed Lap
Zone Mode
Elimination
Head-2-Head
There is a set of predetermined racing events that the player has to go through
It is equipped with new weapons:
The Repulser
Shuriken
Leach Beam
Photo Mode: Take in-game screenshots
Online play is allowed with up to 8 players online, there is also Team versus Team mode
Community: allows players to post their profiles and interact
Game expansions can be downloaded at Playstation Network

This is certainly a good news, not only for video racing game fanatics, but specially for WipEout fans who has been looking for the unique look and feel that the game delivers. And with some new weapons, tracks, and downloadable contents, there's simply no reason for you not to purchase one for yourself.
