PSP - Aliens vs Predator: Requiem Details
For a couple of weeks now, the PSP exclusive Alien vs. Predator: Requiem has been released in major regions except for Australia. The game is an adaptation of a film of the same name, which was released a few years back.
In a recent interview with Tim Jones, Rebellion Developments Head Designer, he shared a few insights into the making of the game and how the new Alien vs. Predator: Requiem PSP title fared against their previous projects.
He revealed: “We have had extensive experience developing high-profile titles for the PSP and getting the most out of the system. We've also worked with numerous movie licenses, so the combination was a perfect fit for us.”
But along the development process, they also encountered problems in developing the control scheme for the system as the PSP lacks a second nub. Jones says, “It has been a challenge to come up with a control system for a third-person action game that doesn't rely on the use of a second stick for controlling the camera.”
Tim Jones also warned fans to expect a slightly different experience playing the game as compared to watching the film. He noted that while Fox was “protective” of the franchise, they were allowed certain levels of creative freedom.
When asked about the multiplayer mode, Jones said “Not in this game. Maybe next time!” Hmm...looks like fans should expect that this won't be the last Alien vs. Predator game to hit the PSP. It's too early to tell, but we'll have to wait and see for that.
