PSP - Gran Turismo Online Multiplayer Possible Via PS3
If you've noticed it, Gran Turismo is lacking in a true multiplayer feature. This is due to Polyphony Digital's decision not to include an online racing mode on the first handheld installment of the franchise. With an ad-hoc multiplayer feature for Gran Turismo PSP, two players can now go up against each other provided that you are close by.
Things are about to change though as Gran Turismo PSP can now enable you to race online. In fact, Japanese gamers can use their PS3 so you can enjoy some multiplayer action via GT PSP's online feature. This is possible when you utilize the Ad/Hoc party software that is available in Japanese PS Store. You can now link your GT PSP to the PS3 by sending out a wireless signal to connect to other PSP gamers via the software.
Through the process of linking to the PS3, it utilizes the PS3 as the main connection source wherein you can visit racing lobby and find other players to compete in a racing action. Unfortunately though, the ad/hoc party software is available only for Japan in the meantime. Sony has not announced yet when other regions will be getting the software as well.
More info soon when we have them.
