PSP - Immersion: PSP, DS Could Get Rumble
Immersion, known for bringing rumble technology into gaming controllers, has surprised many when they announced plans of using that technology on handheld gaming devices as well.
This is indeed a very promising concept and Immersion is working together with Nokia, Samsung, and LG so as to bring the VibeTonz technology to the mobile phones and PDAs. In an interview with Game Daily, Immersion CEO Victor Viegas had this to say: “The effects and strength you can get with a small motor is really amazing...This would translate quite easily to the Nintendo DS, PSP or almost any mobile device.”
When Sony signed a deal with Immersion, it was with a promise of advanced technical enhancements on the Playstation products.Nintendo Wii's Remote has got its own rumble function, and the Sony PSP will have its own rumble soon.
