PSP - LocoRoco 2 Officially Announced

LocoRoco is a simple yet totally gripping PSP game that was first released in 2006. Since then, it has became a sensation on the PSP and the songs included with the game became instant hits too. After a couple of years since its first launched, fans continue to love the game.

It has been a while since rumors of LocoRoco 2 emerged and finally fans get the confirmation they've been longing to hear: LocoRoco is indeed coming back to the PSP. Gamers can now embark on another adventure on a planetary landscape!

During the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, director Tsutomu Kouno reveals that The Moja Troop from the first LocoRoco is back for this new game. He details, “The Moja Troop are back with some new bosses, but this time they've also learned some songs.” He further adds, “They've been practicing as hard as they can, and they've learned how to use music to sap the energy out of everyone. Now nobody feels like doing anything, so the LocoRoco have to go around the world and pep everyone back up again.”

More details were revealed by Kouno when he said that “You'll also run into other enemies as the game goes on – not friends of the Moja, but there's a boss that has transformed these creatures and has them under his control, and he uses them to attack the LocoRoco.”

And while the first LocoRoco was a hit among PSP gamers, Kuono reassures fans that they can expect to get glued to the game as much as the original game did. “We've tried our best not to change the core gameplay too much,” Kuono explains. Then adds, “We're being careful to keep it from getting too complex, and in addition to that, we're putting in lots of new features for people who played the first game to enjoy.”

There are also exciting new abilities for the Locos that will surely bring more fun into the game such as being able to dive underwater instead of just being able to swim in the original LocoRoco. He also adds that some elements on the first game has been enhanced such as biting into a rope, and this time “you can even pull things out entirely with your teeth.” In light with this new, he expounds on their aim to “have more places where the player and the LocoRoco work together to do things, giving you a taste of what it's like playing with them.”

Sony Computer Entertainment has revealed that the game is about 75 percent finished and so the game won't be out anytime soon yet. Check us back as we continue to give you updates on this and possible release date.
