PSP - New Model PSP Breaks 500K Mark In Japan
Within just two weeks of its initial release in Japan, Sony's PSP Slim & Lite has broken the 500,000 mark in terms of units sold. This has made PSP the best-selling console in the market right now, when a reported 777,777 sets were immediately sold.
The astounding sales record did not come as a surprise because a week before its September 20 release, Sony has decided to include the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII as part of its 10th Anniversary package.
According to the Mainichi website, another reason for the surge in sales can be attributed to the different colors and lighter frame of the PSP Slim & Lite, making it appealing to the female market. Not only that, the handheld console allows users to output images on to the television and the TV tuner attachment.
This recent development is good news for Sony as it reflects the market that the new system has in Japan. For now, since the initial release has been quite overwhelming, it is now up to Sony to keep them satisfied with the product.
