PSP - PSP Go Getting A Relaunch?
Rumors have been going around nowadays about the supposed re-launching plans of Sony for the PSP Go. Since the said console model was launched in October of last year, it has failed to meet Sony's expectations on the financial end. In fact, there were several retailers in Europe that were prompted to offer them at discounted price just so they could clear out supplies. It does not help either that the PS3 Slim, which was shortly unveiled after the PSP Go, was only $50 more.
Apparently, not even the sleek look of the gaming console could convince gamers to purchase it for $249.99. However, there were many other issues that confront potential purchasers that made them think twice about buying, if they had any thoughts at all. A few of the common consumer issues was that it only had one analog, lack of UMD drive, inability to replace the battery, and so on.
Various gaming websites have cited a source “close to Sony” saying that “a PSPgo 'relaunch' is imminent, complete with a marketing blitz in hopes to rekindle some sort of excitement over the handheld.”
The relaunch will supposedly include price drop (which will hopefully improve the sales a bit), a redesign, and a new advertising campaign.
Since Sony has not confirmed this supposed “relaunch” yet, we could not confirm a date as to when this will happen. And until Sony does, we'd be sure to keep a close eye on this bit of news for further developments and news updates. So, keep it here!
