PSP - PSP Sales Up 300% Following PSPGo Launch
Although Sony has not confirmed hard numbers for the PSP Go, SCEA admits that the arrival of the new model managed to help boost sales for their handheld platform, just as it did in Europe as SCEE has previously reported. But the rise in sales for the PSP in the US is comparably higher than that of Europe, which is at 120% while the US PSP sales witnessed as surge of as much as 300%.
Patrick Seybold, SCEA's Corporate Communications Directore, has revealed this trend went on three days after the launching of PSP Go in the market. This trend is not only evident on the hardware end but revenue for the PSP games in the North American PSN showed 200 percent increase.
And with several more high-profile PSP titles slated for release in the coming weeks, Sony is confident that this momentum will continue on until the holidays.
