PSP - PSPGo Launches In Japan, Sells 28000 Units On Day 1

This year, Sony has distinctively pushed all efforts at promoting the PSP, which is further emphasized by the arrival of a new handheld model. However, the recent financial report from Sony that covered months of April through September showed a decline in PSP sales in comparison to the same period last year, from 3.2 million units down to 3 million. However, this report does not include the rencet sales of the PSP Go, particularly in Europe and North America.

On another note, the Japanese sales for the said hardware is also not accounted yet after having just released on November 1. As reported by a Japanese gaming website, we learned that the first day sales of the PSP Go in Japan was quite impressive, having sold 28,275 units. This was done alongside other retail releases such as Dissidia Final Fantasy Universal Tuning, MotorStorm Raging Ice, and Persona 3 Portable in Japan.

As compared to the DSi's release on November of 2008, the opening sales for the PSP Go is comparably lower though.
