PSP - Square Enix To Publish Taito's "Space Invaders Extreme" For Other Markets
According to GameStop, Square Enix will be publishing an age-old classic game for the handhelds of Nintendo and Sony. Taito's Space Invaders Extreme is slated for release outside of Japan this year.
If you are interested to know why Taito will not be the one to publish the game for its North American release, one reason could be that Taito is owned by by RPG-creator Square Enix. If this is indeed the case, then Space Invaders Extreme will become the first Taito game with the Squeenix mark on it.
This game was created to keep up with the 30th anniversary of Space Invaders. To make things new, it has been developed with brand new music and visuals, but also retaining the elements of gameplay that the classic arcade shooter has been known for. There were also new special powers and modes that has been added to enhance the game.
In the video retailer's website, they have released information that said both PSP and DS versions of the game will be available starting June 17, 2008 for US $19.99.
Old and new fans of this classic game should be in for a treat on this one. So keep it here for more updates!
