PSP - UK PSP sales Up 120% Following PSP Go Launch
Although the release of the PSP Go was met with skepticism, especially among the Sony handheld's biggest critics, it has been able to cause a surge in hardware sales for the PSP. In fact, the total hardware sales for the PSP has risen by as much as 120% since the October 1 launching of the new PSP Go.
According to an official statement released by SCEE, “PSPgo has performed in line with our expectations, driving 100 per cent incremental volume for the category and has benefited the broad PSP portfolio with PSP-3000 also enjoying a big lift.”
The actual sales figures could not be revealed however since the director at Chart Track UK stated that the figures are not to be released for public consumption, especially with a new format.
This is surely a sign of good things to come for Sony's handheld system!
